“Level crossing with a railway without barriers”

Meaning (important information):

This sign warns you that there follows a level crossing with the railway without barriers and is installed at a distance of 50 meters from the railway in the urban area, above the supplementary panel with one stripe, or at a distance of 150 meters from the railway outside built-up area, above the supplementary panel with 3 stripes.

Placement (additional information):

When approaching a level crossing with a railway without barriers. Outside the cities, it is installed at 150 m before the nearest rail, above the supplementary panel with 3 stripes (Supplementary panels for the level crossing with the railway), and in the cities, at the distance of 50 m.

At the level crossings provided with light signals warning of the approach of trains, the sign must be accompanied by the additional panel “Level crossing with a railway provided with automatic light signalling installation”.

At the level crossing with the current railway without barriers the driver of the vehicle is obliged:

• to show increased caution and to move with reduced speed;
• to stop, in the order of arrival, at the stopping marking, or in its absence, in the place where there is maximum visibility over the railway but without passing the signs “Level crossing with a single railway without barriers”, “Level crossing with a double railway without barriers” or “Stop”;
• to make sure that from the left side or from the right side no railway vehicle is approaching, after which he can cross the railway. In the case in which, after stopping, he observes that at that moment a railway vehicle is approaching, he is obliged to wait for its passing, after which, he must make sure again and if no other railway vehicle is approaching he can cross the railway.

If the level crossing with the railway is provided with automatic light signalling installation the sign will be accompanied by the additional panel “Level crossing with a railway provided with automatic light signalling installation”. the meaning of the light signals of the installation will be respected.
