Starting from 2 February 2023, through Law 385/2022, an exception was created from the minimum age from which the driving licence for categories C, CE may be obtained.
Until recently, those who want to obtain categories C or CE could do so only after reaching the age of 21 years. However, following legislative amendments, applicable from 2 February 2023, they may do so starting from the age of 18 years. This change is treated as an exception from the general rule regarding the minimum age of 21 years, and on the driving licence obtained through this age exception the national code 100 will be entered which allows driving the motor vehicles in this category only for the purpose of training and examination for obtaining the professional certificate CPI (Professional Drivers Freight Transport Certificate CPI).
In short, the procedure is as follows:
The professional certificates CPI are issued by the Romanian Road Authority (ARR). You can study for obtaining the professional certificates from the application ARR Certificates or from the website www.arr-atestate.ro from the category Drivers Freight Transport CPI.
