It includes categories C, C1:

Category C:


	
the motor vehicle, other than those in category D or D1, whose maximum authorised total mass is greater than 3,500 kg and which is designed and built for the transport of a maximum of 8 passengers excluding the driver;
	
the combination consisting of a motor vehicle in category C and a trailer whose maximum authorised total mass does not exceed 750 kg;
	
minimum age 21 years completed;
	
by exception, starting from February 2, 2023, according to paragraph (6) of article 20 of OUG 195/2002, category C can be obtained starting from the age of 18 years completed, but on the driving licence obtained by this age exception the national code 100 will be entered which allows the driving of the motor vehicles in this category only for the purpose of training and examination for obtaining the professional certificate CPI (you can find more information below on this page);
	
must already have a category B licence (seniority does not matter).


Category C1:


	
the motor vehicle, other than the one in category D or D1, whose maximum authorised total mass exceeds 3,500 kg, but not greater than 7,500 kg, and which is designed and built for the transport of a maximum of 8 passengers excluding the driver. A trailer whose maximum authorised total mass does not exceed 750 kg may be attached to the motor vehicle in this category;
	
minimum age 18 years completed;
	
must already have a category B licence (seniority does not matter).
