Advance warning for pedestrian crossing

Name:

“Advance warning for pedestrian crossing”

Meaning (important information):

This sign is found placed near a pedestrian crossing, 50 meters before it in the urban area and outside built-up area at 100 - 250 meters before it. This sign warns you that you are about to encounter a pedestrian crossing, an area where it is necessary to drive with increased attention in order to be able to reduce speed and possibly stop at the pedestrian crossing ahead, if necessary, to give priority to the pedestrians who are crossing. This sign is always followed by the sign ''Pedestrian crossing''.

Placement (additional information):

Near a pedestrian crossing, as follows:

  • inside built-up area, before each pedestrian crossing;
  • outside built-up area, on all roads, except dirt roads.

It is not installed when its position coincides with the sign figure “Children”.

Other useful information (additional information):

It must be remembered that this sign is a warning sign and its role is to warn (to caution) the drivers of vehicles about the presence of dangers on the road section ahead, more precisely about the presence of a pedestrian crossing. Therefore, this sign does not create obligations for the drivers of vehicles. The obligations are created by the existence of the pedestrian crossing, not by the warning sign “Advance warning for pedestrian crossing”.
