It is installed near a pedestrian crossing. Usually, it is also preceded by the road sign "Advance warning for pedestrian crossing".
When encountering this sign the maneuvers of: stopping, waiting, U-turn and moving in reverse are prohibited at less than 25 meters before and after the pedestrian crossing. And the overtaking maneuver is prohibited only on the pedestrian crossing.
According to Art. 123 of the Regulation: The driver of the vehicle is obliged to drive with maximum 30 km/h in the urban area or 50 km/h outside built-up area, when there are pedestrians near the crossing. If the road has two or more lanes, the driver of the vehicle no longer has this obligation.
According to Art. 135 of the Regulation: The driver of the vehicle is obliged to give priority to the pedestrian who is crossing on the pedestrian crossing, when the pedestrian is on the direction of travel of the vehicle.
Art. 123. The driver of the vehicle is obliged to drive at a speed that does not exceed 30 km/h, in the urban area, or 50 km/h outside built-up area, at pedestrian crossings without traffic lights, signalled with signs and markings, when the public road has at most one lane per direction, and the pedestrians on the sidewalk, in the immediate vicinity of the carriageway, intend to start crossing.
Art. 135. The driver of the vehicle is obliged to give priority to the pedestrian who crosses the public road, through a specially designated place, marked and properly signalled or at the green colour of the traffic light intended for him, when the pedestrian is on the direction of travel of the vehicle.
