Double curve or a sequence of more than two curves, the first to the left

Name:

“Double curve or a sequence of more than two curves, the first to the left”

Meaning (important information):

This sign warns you that either a double curve or a sequence of curves follows, the first of the curves being to the left.

Placement (additional information):

Being a warning sign, the placement of this sign is done at a distance of maximum 50 meters before the dangerous place, in the urban area or at a distance between 100 and 250 meters before the dangerous place, outside built-up area.

Two curves are considered to be successive if the distance between the end of the first curve and the beginning of the second is less than 250 m. To be signalled with one of the signs “Double curve or a sequence of more than two curves, the first to the left / right”, at least one of the successive curves must meet the placement conditions mentioned at the signs “Curve to the left”, or “Curve to the right”. If the length of the dangerous section exceeds 2 km, under the sign the additional panel “The length of the dangerous section referred to by the sign” is installed, which is repeated at every 1.5 km - 2.0 km, on the additional panel being written the remaining distance to the end of the dangerous section.

Other useful information (additional information):

If the curve is signalled as being a particularly dangerous curve (signalling which is carried out through the sign “Particularly dangerous curve”) or if the visibility in the curve is less than 50 meters, the road legislation imposes the obligation to drive with a speed that does not exceed 30 km/h in the urban area or 50 km/h outside built-up area. In the case in which the visibility in the curve is less than 50 meters, besides the obligation regarding the travelling speed, the road legislation also imposes the prohibition of performing all manoeuvres (overtaking, stopping, waiting, moving in reverse and U-turn).
