“Double curve or a succession of more than two curves, the first to the right”
This sign warns you that either a double curve or a succession of curves follows, the first of the curves being to the right.
Being a warning sign, the placement of this sign is done at a distance of maximum 50 meters before the dangerous place, in the urban area or at a distance between 100 and 250 meters before the dangerous place, outside the urban area.
Two curves are considered to be successive if the distance between the end of the first curve and the beginning of the second is less than 250 m. To be signalled with one of the signs “Double curve or a succession of more than two curves, the first to the left / right”, at least one of the successive curves must meet the placement conditions mentioned at the signs “Curve to the left”, or “Curve to the right”. If the length of the dangerous sector exceeds 2 km, under the sign the additional panel “The length of the dangerous sector to which the sign refers” is installed, which is repeated every 1.5 km - 2.0 km, on the additional panel being written the remaining distance to the end of the dangerous sector.
In the case in which the curve is signalled as being a particularly dangerous curve (signalling which is carried out by the sign “Particularly dangerous curve”) or in the case in which the visibility in the curve is less than 50 meters, the road legislation imposes the obligation to drive with a speed which must not exceed 30 km/h in the urban area or 50 km/h outside the urban area. In the case in which the visibility in the curve is less than 50 meters, besides the obligation regarding the travel speed, the road legislation also imposes the prohibition of performing all maneuvers (overtaking, stopping, waiting, moving in reverse and U-turn).
