Bypass

Name:

“Bypass”

Meaning (important information):

This sign is signalled with the sign the presence of an obstacle on the carriageway and obliges the drivers of vehicles to bypass the respective obstacle through the direction indicated by the arrow. In the given situation the bypass of the obstacle will be done on the right side, according to the direction indicated by the arrow on the sign. The direction of the arrow may indicate, as the case may be, the bypass of the obstacle on the left side.

Placement (additional information):

At the ends of refuges, guiding islands, lane separation spaces or before another obstacle on the road, where the vehicles must bypass the obstacle on the left or on the right, according to the direction indicated by the arrow, respectively, to be able to avoid the obstacle on both sides, according to the directions indicated by the arrows.

The signs used at the refuges of tram stations or at the ends of the double guardrail that separates the traffic directions on a road with several lanes per direction may be of small dimensions.
