It is found applied on the carriageway of highways and express roads, at a distance from 44 to 72 meters between them, in areas where the phenomenon of fog, vegetation fires, in areas considered dangerous, where chain accidents occur, in the area of toll points, of road junctions where traffic congestions are recorded, at the entrance into urban agglomerations. This marking is completed by the information sign „Road safety distance between motor vehicles on highways and express roads”.
This marking has the role of increasing road safety, guiding the drivers to maintain an appropriate distance from the vehicle in front on high-speed roads. The marking consists of white arrows, applied on the carriageway, which suggest the minimum recommended distance between motor vehicles. When the space between your motor vehicle and the one in front is equivalent to the distance between two such arrows, the distance is considered adequate for preventing collisions. The marking thus contributes to reducing the risk of accidents on high-speed roads.
