Question 636 of 802

Which of the following maneuvers, performed on the public road by the driver of the vehicle, are considered to be aggressive behavior?

A the successive movement from one traffic lane to another or from one row to another, alternating from left to right, for the purpose of overtaking a line of vehicles moving in the same direction;
B overtaking on the right side of the vehicle whose driver has signalled the intention and has correctly moved into position to leave the direction of travel to the left;
C the intentional performance of a controlled skid of the vehicle for the purpose of turning or rotating it.

Explanation

For answers A and C

It is prohibited the adoption of aggressive behavior in driving vehicles on public roads. The maneuver of successive movement from one traffic lane to another or from one row to another, alternating from left to right, for the purpose of overtaking a line of vehicles moving in the same direction, as well as the maneuver through which the intentional performance of a controlled skid of the vehicle is carried out for the purpose of turning or rotating it are considered to be aggressive behavior, being prohibited the performance of these maneuvers on public roads.

The adoption of aggressive behavior in driving vehicles on public roads is sanctioned with contravention, as follows:

  • aggressive behavior plus traffic accident without victims: the fine provided in the class III sanctions and suspension of the right to drive for a period of 60 days;
  • aggressive behavior without traffic accident: the fine provided in the class II sanctions and suspension of the right to drive for a period of 30 days.

For answer B

Although the overtaking maneuver is carried out only on the left side of the overtaken vehicle, by exception, the vehicle whose driver has signalled the intention and has correctly moved into position to leave the direction of travel to the left is overtaken on the right side. Therefore, the maneuver from answer B is permitted and is not considered to be aggressive behavior.
