Question 711 of 802

In what order will the four vehicles pass through the intersections?

A the car, the truck, the motorcycle, the bus;
B the bus, the truck, the motorcycle, the car;
C the car, the bus, the motorcycle, the truck.

Explanation

The intersection in the image is one in which the traffic is directed with regulatory priority signs.

The motorcycle and the truck come from non-priority roads, encountering the sign “Give way” and the sign “Stop”, and have the obligation to give priority to the vehicles that come from the priority road, more exactly to the bus and the car.

The bus and the car have equal rights to pass through this intersection because both encounter the sign “Priority road”, but because the bus intends to turn left it will give priority to the car because by turning to the left, the car comes from its right side. Thus the first will pass the car and the second will pass the bus.

After the passing of the car and the bus it remains that between the motorcycle and the truck the order of passing is established. These have equal rights to pass through this intersection because they encounter signs that have the same meaning of loss of priority, more exactly the sign “Give way” and the sign “Stop”, but because the truck intends to turn left it will give priority to the motorcycle because by turning to the left, the motorcycle comes from its right side.

The order of passing is the following: the car, followed by the bus, after which the motorcycle will pass, and the last to pass through the intersection will be the truck.

The correct answer is: C
