Overtaking is carried out, as a rule, on the left side of the overtaken vehicle. However, road traffic legislation provides that trams are overtaken on their right side.
Also, although the general rule of overtaking vehicles requires that overtaking be carried out on the left side, road traffic legislation provides that the vehicle that has signalled and positioned accordingly for leaving the direction of travel to the left is overtaken on the right side, provided that the remaining space allows the performance of this maneuver. We must take into account that sufficient space must be created to be able to overtake these vehicles on the right side, and if there is not enough space, it is not allowed to climb, even partially, onto the sidewalk.

(5) Overtaking is carried out only on the left side of the overtaken vehicle. The tram or the vehicle whose driver signalled the intention and positioned accordingly for leaving the direction of travel to the left is overtaken on the right side.
(6) The tram in motion may also be overtaken on the left side when the road is one-way or when between the right rail and the edge of the sidewalk there is not enough space.
