At the level crossing with the current railway, road traffic is also considered prohibited in the situation in which the barriers or semibarriers are in the process of descending or ascending, in which case the vehicles must stop, in the order of arrival, before the barriers or semibarriers.
When, at the level crossing with the current railway, the barriers or semibarriers are in a vertical position, road traffic is NOT considered to be prohibited. However, when the barriers or semibarriers are in a horizontal position, or only one of the barriers or semibarriers is in a horizontal position, road traffic is considered prohibited. Considering that in answer B it is specified that the barriers or semibarriers are in a vertical position, this answer cannot be correct.
When, at the level crossing with the current railway, a single unit of the two units of the device with intermittent-alternative red light is lit, road traffic is considered prohibited. However, in answer C instead of "intermittent-alternative red light" it is "intermittent-alternative white light", which is wrong and makes this answer not correct.
The correct answer is: A
Regulation** - Article 71
(1) The signalling of the prohibition of road traffic is considered to be carried out even only in one of the following situations:
a) by the lighting of a single light unit of the device with intermittent-alternative red light;
b) by the operation of the sound system;
c) by the horizontal position of a single semibarrier.
(2) Road traffic is also considered prohibited in the situation in which the barriers or semibarriers are in the process of descending or ascending.
Regulation** - Article 138
(1) The driver of the vehicle is obliged to stop when:
a) the barriers or semibarriers are lowered, in the process of descending or ascending;
b) the signal with red lights and/or the sound signal are in operation;
c) encounters the sign "Level crossing with single railway, without barriers", "Level crossing with double railway, without barriers" or "Stop".
(2) The vehicles must stop, in the order of arrival, in the place where there is maximum visibility of the railway without passing the signs provided in paragraph (1) letter c) or, as the case may be, before the stopping marking or before the barriers or semibarriers, when these are closed, in the process of descending or ascending.
** Regulation = REGULATION for the implementation of OUG 195/2002 updated (Road Code Regulation)
