Overtaking is the maneuver by which a vehicle passes in front of another vehicle or past an obstacle, located on the same direction of travel, by changing the direction of travel and exiting the traffic lane or the line of vehicles in which it was initially located. [OUG* Art. 45 paragraph (1)]

TO REMEMBER:

1. Whether we want to pass in front of another vehicle located on the same direction, or whether we want to bypass an obstacle on the carriageway located on the same direction, it is still called overtaking;
2. Whether we cross over the marking that separates the directions of travel and enter the opposite direction, or whether we do not cross over the marking that separates the directions of travel and remain on the same direction, it is still called overtaking.
