Question 52 of 485

Is the waiting of buses permitted during the night on the carriageway of an unlit communal road?

A yes, if the position lights or the parking lights are turned on;
B no, because in all cases the waiting during the night on the carriageway is prohibited;
C yes, if besides the position lights, the presence of the bus is also signalled with the help of the reflective triangles.

Explanation

For answer  A

When you are waiting with the vehicle during the night on the carriageway of an unlit communal road you must turn on the position lights or the parking lights. A vehicle may be stopped or waiting on the carriageway of a road, with all lights off, in the places where these maneuvers are permitted, when it is on a lit road, so that the vehicle is visible from a distance of at least 50 meters or if it is taken outside the carriageway, on a consolidated shoulder. Therefore, if the road is unlit, we must turn on the position lights or the parking lights.

For answer  B

Not in all cases is the waiting of vehicles during the night on the carriageway prohibited.

We give the following two examples: Waiting during the night on the carriageway is possible:

  • if the road is unlit by turning on the position lights or the parking lights;
  • if it is on a lit road, so that the vehicle is visible from a distance of at least 50 meters.

For answer  C

The reflective triangles will be used in case of involuntary immobilization of the vehicle on the carriageway, such as a vehicle that has a technical problem and has broken down on the carriageway.

We recommend you also consult the articles from the updated road legislation found a little below.
