Question 56 of 1208

Is permitted the waiting of vehicles during the night on the carriageway of an unlit communal road?

A yes, if the position lights or the waiting lights are turned on;
B no, because in all cases is prohibited during the night the waiting on the carriageway;
C yes, if in addition to the position lights, the presence of the vehicle is also signalled with the help of the reflective triangles.

Explanation

For answer  A

When you are waiting with the vehicle during the night on the carriageway of an unlit communal road you must activate the position lights or the waiting lights. A vehicle may be stopped or waited on the carriageway of a road, with all lights off, in the places in which these maneuvers are permitted, when it is on a lit road, so that the vehicle is visible from a distance of at least 50 meters or if it is moved outside the carriageway, on a consolidated shoulder. Therefore, if the road is unlit, we must activate the position lights or the waiting lights.

For answer  B

Not in all cases is prohibited during the night the waiting of vehicles on the carriageway.

We give the following two examples: It is possible to wait during the night on the carriageway:

  • if the road is unlit by activating the position lights or the waiting lights;
  • if it is on a lit road, so that the vehicle is visible from a distance of at least 50 meters.

For answer  C

The reflective triangles will be used in case of involuntary immobilization of the vehicle on the carriageway, such as a vehicle that has a technical problem and has broken down on the carriageway.

We recommend that you also consult the articles from the updated road legislation that are found a little below.
