GENERAL Learning Environment Category B (B, B1)
Question 904 of 1208

Which of the vehicles below do not benefit from priority of passage:

A the vehicles that change direction of travel to the right, compared to those coming from the opposite direction;
B the vehicles that cross an intersection straight ahead and encounter the green colour of the traffic light;
C the vehicles that go downhill compared to those going uphill, if on the lane of those going uphill they encounter a fixed obstacle.

Explanation

For answer A

When you change the direction of travel to the right in an intersection you have priority of passage compared to the vehicles coming from the opposite direction. The vehicles coming from the opposite direction and wishing to turn left must give you priority, because during the left turn they perform you come from their right.

For answer B

When you cross an intersection straight ahead and encounter the green colour of the traffic light, you have priority of passage compared to all the other vehicles that move in that intersection.

For answer C

When you go downhill you have the obligation to give priority of passage to the vehicles that go uphill, if on the lane of those going uphill there is a fixed obstacle. In this situation the road traffic legislation exempts the overtaking maneuver of those going uphill from the prohibition of performing overtaking which says that „Is prohibited the overtaking of the vehicles when from the opposite direction another vehicle approaches, and the driver of this vehicle is obliged to perform maneuvers to avoid the collision”.

Therefore, the vehicles that DO NOT benefit from priority of passage are the vehicles that go downhill compared to those going uphill, if on the lane of those going uphill they encounter a fixed obstacle.
