Explanation

The drivers of motor vehicles, agricultural or forestry tractors and trams are obliged to use the dipped-beam headlights (low beam) when it rains heavily, snows abundantly or in other conditions that reduce visibility on the road, regardless of whether driving is done during the day or at night.

And in the event that visibility is reduced because of dense fog, in addition to the dipped-beam headlights, the front fog lights will also be used (if it is equipped with such fog lights, also called front fog lights), as well as the rear fog lights with red light.

Although the road legislation has been updated and at this moment it is mandatory that when driving during the daytime, on all categories of public roads, driving is done having the dipped-beam headlights (low beam) or the daytime running lights (DRL) in operation, the answer to this question remains still correct and in accordance with the legislation.

To better understand this rule we give the following example: A driver of a motor vehicle drives during the daytime, in optimal visibility conditions, in which case he has the obligation to put into operation either the dipped-beam headlights (that is, the low beam), or the daytime running lights (DRL), as he considers, or he can even use both at the same time. However, if he drives in conditions of reduced visibility on the road, the option to choose to put into operation the daytime running lights (DRL) instead of the dipped-beam headlights (low beam) is NOT valid anymore because the road legislation provides that in this case it is mandatory to use the dipped-beam headlights (low beam), without leaving the option to use the daytime running lights (DRL) instead of the dipped-beam headlights.

More information about the obligation to drive also during the daytime with the dipped-beam headlights or with the daytime running lights in operation can be found here - The obligation to use the dipped-beam headlights (low beam) or the DRL lights during the daytime.

The correct answer is: C
