In the situation from the question the traffic police officer already performs a signal that means stopping, such as the signal with arms extended horizontally, when the driver of the vehicle approaches the intersection, and the traffic police officer decides to address him another signal, for example a signal performed with the arm for the vehicle to advance, to overtake, to pass in front or behind him, or any other signal but which does not mean stopping. In this case the vehicle must no longer stop but must respect the meaning of the new signal of the traffic police officer.
The correct answer is: A
Regulation** - Article 88
(1) The signals of the traffic police officer who directs the traffic have the following meanings:
a) the arm raised vertically means "attention, stopping" for all traffic participants who approach, except for the drivers of vehicles who could no longer stop in safety conditions. If the signal is given in an intersection, this does not impose stopping for the drivers of vehicles who are already engaged in crossing;
b) the arm or arms extended horizontally mean "stopping" for all traffic participants who, regardless of their direction of travel, move from the direction or directions intersected by the arm or arms extended. After giving this signal, the traffic police officer may lower the arm or arms, his position also meaning "stopping" for the traffic participants who come from the front or from the back;
c) swinging, at night, in the vertical plane, of a device with red light or of the fluorescent-reflective baton means "stopping" for the traffic participants towards whom it is directed;
d) vertical swinging of the arm, with the palm oriented towards the ground, means reducing the speed;
e) the brisk rotation of the arm means increasing the speed of movement of the vehicles or speeding up the crossing of the road by pedestrians.(2) The traffic police officer who directs the traffic may perform a signal with the arm for the vehicle to advance, to overtake, to pass in front or behind him, to avoid him on his left or right side, and for pedestrians to cross the road or to stop.
(3) In performing the commands provided in paragraph (1) and (2), the traffic police officer may also use the whistle.
