GENERAL Learning Environment Category A (A, A1, A2, AM)
Question 11 of 418

Penalty points are applied for:

A failure to respect the meaning of the “Stop” sign installed at the level crossing with a railway;
B exceeding by 31-40 km/h the maximum speed allowed on the respective road sector for the category to which the driven motor vehicle belongs;
C exceeding by 10-20 km/h the maximum speed allowed on the respective road sector for the category to which the driven motor vehicle belongs.

Explanation

For answer  A

Failure to respect the meaning of the “Stop” sign installed at the level crossing with the current railway constitutes an act and is sanctioned with the contravention fine provided in the class IV of sanctions and with the application of a number of 6 penalty points.

For answers  B  and  C

Exceeding the maximum speed limit is prohibited, and the sanctions applied vary depending on the value by which it was exceeded.

For example, if moving on a road sector where the maximum allowed speed is 50 km/h and this maximum allowed limit is exceeded by a speed between 10 and 50 km/h (the speed at which one is travelling being between 60 and 100 km/h) it will be sanctioned with contravention fine and penalty points, depending on the value of the speed by which the maximum allowed speed was exceeded.

Exceeding by 10-20 km/h the maximum allowed speed constitutes an act and is sanctioned with the contravention fine provided in class I of sanctions and with the application of a number of two penalty points.

Exceeding by 31-40 km/h the maximum allowed speed constitutes an act and is sanctioned with the contravention fine provided in class III of sanctions and with the application of a number of 4 penalty points.

And if this maximum allowed limit is exceeded by a speed between 50 and 70 km/h (the speed at which one is travelling being between 100 and 120 km/h), it will be sanctioned with contravention fine and with the application of the measure of withholding the driving licence for the purpose of suspending the right to drive for a period of 90 days.

However, if this maximum allowed limit is exceeded by more than 70 km/h (the speed at which one is travelling being over 120 km/h), it will be sanctioned with contravention fine and with the application of the measure of withholding the driving licence for the purpose of suspending the right to drive for a period of 120 days.

The correct answer is: A, B and C
