Regulation - Article 158

(1) In the residential area, signalled as such, the pedestrians can use the entire width of the carriageway, and the playing of children is allowed.

(2) The drivers of vehicles are obliged to drive with a speed of at most 20 km/h, to not wait or park the vehicle outside the specially designated spaces and signalled as such, to not hinder or prevent the movement of pedestrians even if, for this purpose, they have to stop.

Regulation - Article 159

In the pedestrian area, signalled as such, the driver of a vehicle can enter only if he lives in this area or provides public services "from gate to gate" and has no other possibility of access. He is obliged to drive with the maximum speed of 5 km/h, to not hinder or prevent the movement of pedestrians and, if necessary, to stop to allow their movement.

Road Traffic Code - The residential and pedestrian area

The residential area is the perimeter in an urban area where special traffic rules apply, with the entrances and exits signalled in accordance with the legal provisions.

In the residential area, signalled as such, the pedestrians can use the entire width of the carriageway, and the playing of children is allowed (art. 158 paragraph 1 of the Regulation). The drivers of vehicles are obliged to drive with a speed of at most 20 km/h, to not wait or park the vehicle outside the specially designated spaces and signalled as such, to not hinder or prevent the movement of pedestrians even if, for this purpose, they have to stop (art. 158 paragraph 2 of the Regulation).
