“Intersection with a non‑priority road”
The sign is placed outside the urban area, 100–250 meters before an intersection with a non‑priority road. The driver of the vehicle who encounters the “Intersection with a non‑priority road” sign has priority in the next intersection over the vehicles coming from the road with which it intersects (the transversal road). The vehicles coming from the transversal road will encounter one of the signs “Give way” or “Stop”.
It must be noted that this is a warning sign and does not have the role of directing the traffic, it only warns that a controlled intersection follows in which you will intersect with a non‑priority road. Therefore, it does not grant you priority, it only informs you that you will have priority in the next intersection over the vehicles coming from the road with which you intersect.
The symbol on the sign suggests the shape of the intersection. In this case, the sign shows a cross‑shaped intersection.
Outside the built‑up area (between 100 m and 250 m before the dangerous place), to signal the approach to an intersection with a non‑priority road, which is not signalled with orientation pre‑signposting signs, “Direction pre‑signposting at an intersection of roads”, “Direction pre‑signposting at a grade‑separated road intersection”, “Motorway pre‑signposting for parking”, “Motorway pre‑signposting for service area” or “Pre‑signposting of a dangerous place, a prohibition or a restriction on a side road”.
The symbols suggest the configuration of the intersection. On the non‑priority roads, the signs “Give way” or “Stop” must be installed.
Given that a controlled intersection through signs follows, when approaching it at night or in reduced visibility conditions, the driver of the vehicle is obliged to alternately switch the dipped beam with the main beam (low beam with high beam).
