PENALTY OF MISTAKES MADE BY THE CANDIDATE. (PENALTY POINTS). Applied for failure to comply with traffic rules / failure to perform or incorrect performance of the indicated maneuvers. At the practical exam each mistake receives a number of penalty points, if 21 penalty points are accumulated on the route, the candidate is failed.

At the practical exam each mistake receives a number of penalty points, if 21 penalty points are accumulated on the route, the candidate is failed.

Category C (C, CE, C1, C1E, Tr)

I. PREPARATION AND TECHNICAL CHECK OF THE MOTOR VEHICLE / THE COMBINATION OF VEHICLES
- failure to perform the visual check, in random order regarding: the condition of the tires, the fastening of the wheels (the condition of the nuts), the condition of the suspension elements, of the air tanks, of the windshield, of the windows, of the fluids (engine oil, coolant, windshield washer fluid), of the light / signalling unit front / rear, retro‑reflectors, the medical kit, the reflective triangle, fire extinguisher;-3p
- failure to perform the check of the bodywork, of the covering of the doors for goods, of the loading mechanism, of the fastening of the load (only for C, CE, C1, C1E, Tr);-9p
- failure to check, through the dashboard instruments or the controls of the motor vehicle, the functioning of the steering, brake, lubrication / cooling system, of the lights, of the signalling and of the audible warning device;-3p
- lack of knowledge of the equipment for recording the activity of the driver (Except C1 C1E Tr which are not within the scope of Regulation (EEC) No 3,821/85);-3p
- failure to check the coupling device and the connections of the braking / electrical installation, of the retro‑reflectors (only for CE, C1E, D1E, DE, Tr);-9p
- failure to check the bodywork, the service doors, the emergency exits, the first‑aid equipment, the fire extinguishers and other safety equipment (only for D, DE, D1, D1E, Tb, Tv);-5p
- failure to adjust the seat, the rear‑view mirrors, failure to fasten the seat belt, failure to release the parking brake;-3p
- lack of knowledge of the dashboard equipment or the controls of the motor vehicle.-3p

II. SPECIAL MANEUVERS REGARDING TRAFFIC SAFETY (the incorrect performance of these is penalized)

- coupling a trailer to the towing motor vehicle from / with returning to the initial position in parallel stopping;-5p
- moving in reverse;-5p
- parking safely, front / rear / lateral, for loading / unloading, or at a loading ramp / platform, or at a similar installation;-7p
- stopping to allow passengers to board / alight in / from the bus / tram / trolleybus, safely. (only for D, DE, D1, D1E, Tb, Tv).-7p

III. BEHAVIOR IN TRAFFIC

MANEUVERING AND POSITION OF THE MOTOR VEHICLE WHILE MOVING

- failure to synchronize the controls (stopping the engine, excessive acceleration, incorrect use of the gear stages);-5p
- failure to maintain the direction of travel;-9p
- incorrect use of the road, with or without markings;-6p
- incorrect maneuvering when crossing with other vehicles, including in restricted spaces;-6p
- incorrect performance of moving in reverse, of front, rear or lateral parking;-5p
- incorrect performance of turning the vehicle facing in the opposite direction by performing the maneuvers of moving ahead and in reverse;-5p
- incorrect turning on a street with multiple traffic lanes per direction;-5p
- incorrect maneuvering when climbing ramps / descending long slopes, when travelling in tunnels;-5p
- incorrect use of the dipped headlights / high beam headlights;-3p
- driving uneconomically and aggressively for the environment (excessive rpm, unjustified braking / acceleration).-5p

CHANGING THE DIRECTION OF TRAVEL AND MAKING TURNS

- failure to make sure when changing the direction of travel / leaving the stopping place;-9p
- irregular performance of turns;-6p
- failure to signal or incorrect signalling of changing the direction of travel.-6p

TRAFFIC IN INTERSECTIONS, POSITIONS WHILE MOVING

- improper positioning in relation to the indicated direction of travel;-6p
- performing prohibited maneuvers (stopping, waiting, U‑turn, moving in reverse);-6p
- failure to make sure when entering intersections;-9p
- incorrect use of entry / exit lanes on / from the motorway / similar arteries;-5p
- failure to keep sufficient distance from those who travel ahead or come from the opposite direction.-9p

OVERTAKING

- repeated hesitation to overtake other vehicles;-6p
- failure to comply with the rules for performing overtaking or performing it in prohibited places and situations.-21p

PRIORITY

- failure to give priority to vehicles and pedestrians who have this right (at moving off, in intersections, roundabout, public transport station provided with bay, tram station without refuge for pedestrians, pedestrian crossing);-21p
- repeated tendencies to give way to vehicles and pedestrians who do not have priority.-6p

FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE MEANING OF TRAFFIC SIGNS AND MEANS OF TRAFFIC SIGNALING

- failure to comply with the meaning of signs / markings / the color of the traffic light (except the red color);-9p
- failure to comply with the meaning of the red color of the traffic light / the signals of the traffic police officer / the signals of other persons with similar legal duties.-21p

SPEED

- exceeding the maximum legal speed allowed;-9p
- driving with reduced speed unjustifiably, failure to fall into the rhythm imposed by the other traffic participants.-6p

DRIVING IN UNFAVOURABLE WEATHER

- lack of skill in driving in conditions of rain, snow, slush, ice;-9p
- travelling with speed not adapted to the weather and road conditions;-9p

FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE LEGAL RULES AT LEVEL CROSSINGS WITH THE RAILWAY.-21p

IV. OTHER SITUATIONS THAT LEAD TO THE GRADE "FAILED"

- showing up for the exam under the influence of alcoholic drinks, substances or narcotic products, of medicines with similar effects or manifestations likely to disturb the examination of the other candidates;-21p
- intervention of the examiner to avoid an imminent danger / the occurrence of a traffic incident.-21p
