In the practical examination each mistake receives a number of penalty points, if 21 penalty points are accumulated on the route, the candidate is rejected.

Category A (A, A1, A2, AM)

I. PREPARATION AND TECHNICAL CHECK OF THE MOTOR VEHICLE

- non-use of protective equipment: gloves, boots, clothing and protective helmet; (for AM, only the protective helmet)-3p
- failure to check the condition of the tires and the emergency stop switch;-3p
- checking by means of the dashboard equipment or the vehicle controls, the functionality of the steering, brake, transmission, lubrication/cooling system, lights, signalling, reflectors and the horn.-3p

II. SPECIAL MANEUVERS IN THE TRAINING GROUND (incorrect performance of these is penalized)

- placing/lowering the vehicle on/from the support/stand and walking next to the vehicle;-3p
- starting the engine and smooth starting without jerking the vehicle;-3p
- progressive acceleration, maintaining the direction of travel, including when changing gears;-5p
- maintaining position on the vehicle, the technique of maintaining direction (permanent balance without leaning on the carriageway);-5p
- operating the clutch in combination with the brake, changing gears;-3p
- performing the slalom among 5 cones;-5p
- performing figure-eights among 4 cones;-5p
- avoiding the cone, without hitting/overturning it;-3p
- skill in operating the front/rear brake during emergency braking, maintaining visual direction and position on the vehicle);-5p
- performing the maneuver of avoiding an obstacle at a speed over 30 km/h (without AM);-5p
- performing the maneuver of avoiding an obstacle at a minimum speed of 50 km/h (without AM);-5p
- performing braking, including emergency braking, at a minimum speed of 50 km/h (without AM).-5p

Mistakes leading to the "REJECTED" rating

- exceeding the time allocated for performing the maneuvers in the training ground;-16p
- falling with the moped/motorcycle;-16p
- failure to follow the established route in the training ground.-16p

III. BEHAVIOUR IN TRAFFIC

- unsynchronized commands (engine stopping, excessive acceleration, incorrect use of the gears) (without AM);-6p
- failure to maintain the direction of travel (without AM);-9p
- incorrect use of the road with or without marking (without AM);-6p
- incorrect maneuvering when crossing other vehicles, including in restricted areas (without AM);-6p
- failure to make sure when changing direction of travel (without AM);-9p
- incorrect performing of turns (without AM);-6p
- failing to signal or wrongly signalling the change of direction of travel (without AM);-6p
- incorrect use of dipped-beam lights/main-beam lights;-3p
- improper positioning in relation to the indicated direction of travel (without AM);-6p
- performing prohibited maneuvers (stopping, waiting, U-turn) (without AM);-6p
- failure to make sure when entering intersections/leaving the waiting area (without AM);-9p
- incorrect use of the lanes when entering/leaving the highway/similar roads (without AM);-5p
- failure to keep sufficient distance from those driving ahead or coming from the opposite direction (without AM);-9p
- driving in an uneconomical and environmentally aggressive manner (excessive revving, unjustified braking/acceleration) (without AM);-5p
- incorrect maneuvering when climbing ramps/descending long slopes, when driving in tunnels (without AM);-5p
- failure to comply with the legal rules regarding the overtaking maneuver;-21p
- repeated hesitation to overtake other vehicles;-6p
- failure to give way to vehicles and pedestrians who have this right (when moving off, in intersections, roundabout, public transport station equipped with bay, tram station without pedestrian refuge, pedestrian crossing) (without AM);-21p

- failure to respect the meaning of the red colour of the traffic light/ the signals of the traffic police officer/ the signals of other persons with similar legal duties (without AM);-21p
- failure to respect the meaning of the signs/ markings/ colour of the traffic light (except for the red colour);-9p
- failure to comply with the legal rules regarding the level crossing with the railway (without AM);-21p
- exceeding the maximum legal speed limit (without AM);-9p
- repeated tendencies to give way to vehicles and pedestrians who do not have priority (without AM);-6p
- driving with reduced speed without justification, failure to keep up with the pace imposed by the other traffic participants (without AM);-6p
- lack of skill in driving in slippery carriageway conditions (speed reduction, preventive conduct) (without AM);-9p
- failure to comply with the examiner's command regarding the route to follow.-6p

IV. OTHER SITUATIONS THAT LEAD TO THE "REJECTED" RATING

- appearing at the examination under the influence of alcoholic beverages, substances or narcotic products, medicines with similar effects or manifestations likely to disturb the examination of candidates;-21p
- the instructor's intervention to avoid imminent danger/ the occurrence of a traffic event.-21p
