The intention of the drivers of motor vehicles to change the direction of travel is signalled by putting into operation the direction indicators, with at least 50 meters in the urban areas and 100 meters outside the urban areas before the beginning of the maneuver. (1) The driver of a vehicle who performs a maneuver of changing the direction of travel, of exiting from a row of waiting vehicles or of entering such a row, of passing on another traffic lane or of turning to the right or to the left or who is going to perform a U-turn or to move backwards is obliged to signal in time and to make sure that he can do it without disturbing the traffic or endangering the safety of the other participants in traffic.
(2) The signalling of the change of direction of travel must be maintained for the entire duration of the maneuver.
