Question 420 of 802

Alcohol consumption, even in small quantities:

A can determine a risky or excessively relaxed manner of driving;
B can reduce visual capacity;
C can reduce auditory capacity.

Explanation

Alcohol consumption, even in small quantities, can determine a risky and excessively relaxed manner of driving, therefore the driving capacity of a vehicle can be reduced even after consuming a relatively small amount of alcohol. Alcohol consumed in any form passes into the blood, then spreads throughout the body, but especially into the brain, thus affecting the entire nervous system.

Alcohol is responsible for the following effects:

  • the level of concentration of attention decreases very much;
  • the incorrect evaluation of distances and speeds;
  • it diminishes judgment and disturbs reasoning;
  • it increases reaction time;
  • reflexes decrease;
  • the underestimation of dangers and risks in traffic;
  • the decrease of precision.

The phases of alcohol consumption:

  • first phase: the driver has the false impression that he can achieve more at the wheel than usual;
  • second phase: in the driver's mental and physical state a drop occurs, he becomes confused and the movement of the motor vehicle becomes sinuous (in zigzag);
  • third phase: the driver no longer hits the controls.
At a blood alcohol concentration of:
0.3 ‰ the risk of an accident begins;
0.5 ‰ the risk of an accident is multiplied 2 times;
0.8 ‰ the risk of an accident is multiplied 10 times;
1.2 ‰ the risk of an accident is multiplied 35 times;

A bottle of beer 500 ml/4%-5% 0.15-0.20 %
A glass of wine 200ml /10% -12% 0.20-0.25 %
A glass of țuică 200ml/25% 0.40-0.50 %
A glass of cognac 200ml/50% 1 %

The correct answer is: A
