We must remember that the reduction of the driving speed is mandatory when approaching another vehicle that travels from the opposite direction (comes from the opposite direction toward the vehicle you are driving), starting from at least 200 meters from it. In these situations, besides the reduction of the speed, you must also use the meeting lights. For more details consult the explanation of answer C.
Overtaking another vehicle that travels in front of you is not prohibited to you when you travel during the night.
When you travel during the night, regardless of whether the road is or is not illuminated, when approaching another motor vehicle that travels in front of you, more precisely that moves in the same direction as you, in the same lane, you are obliged that from the distance of at least 100 meters from it to use the meeting lights.
If in that moment you travel with the driving lights (high beam) in operation, you must change them to the meeting lights (low beam), in order not to disturb those in front.
If in that moment you travel having in operation, instead of the meeting lights, the daytime running lights (DRL), you must turn on the meeting lights (low beam).
The purpose of this obligation is to offer better visibility to the driver and to be better observed by the other traffic participants.
We must make the difference between the following two situations that we encounter in the questions of the quizzes but also in day-to-day traffic:
The correct answer is: C
Regulation** - Article 114
[...]
(2) During the night, when approaching two vehicles that travel from opposite directions, the drivers of these are obliged that from a distance of at least 200 m to use the meeting lights simultaneously with the reduction of the speed. When the driver of a motor vehicle, agricultural or forestry tractor approaches a motor vehicle that travels in front of him, he is obliged to use the meeting lights from a distance of at least 100 m.
The road legislation does not provide anything in this regard.
