Overtaking is the maneuver by which a vehicle passes in front of another vehicle or past an obstacle, located on the same direction of travel, by changing the direction of travel and leaving the lane of travel or the line of vehicles in which it was initially. [OUG* Art. 45 paragraph (1)]
