Explanation

For answer  A

The parking lights are used during the immobilization of the vehicle on the carriageway outside built-up areas, from dusk until dawn, during the day when it rains torrentially, snows heavily or there is dense fog or in other conditions that reduce visibility on the public road. Therefore, answer A cannot be correct.

For answer  B

The high-beam lights are used to illuminate the road over long distances and must be used while driving, both in urban areas and outside them, depending on the degree of illumination of the public road.

For answer  C

When it rains torrentially, snows heavily or in other conditions that reduce visibility on the road, the drivers of motor vehicles, agricultural or forestry tractors and trams are obliged to use the dipped-beam lights. These are suitable to ensure the necessary visibility and to avoid dazzling the other traffic participants.

Although the traffic legislation has been updated and at this moment it is mandatory that when driving during the day, on all categories of public roads, driving must be done with the dipped-beam headlights (short beam) or the daytime running lights (DRL) in operation, the answer to this question remains still correct and according to the legislation.

To understand this rule better we give the following example: A driver of a motor vehicle drives during the day, in optimal visibility conditions, in which case he has the obligation to operate either the dipped-beam headlights (that is the short beam), or the daytime running lights (DRL), as he considers, or he can even use both at the same time. However, if he drives in heavy snowfall conditions, the option to choose to operate the daytime running lights (DRL) instead of the dipped-beam headlights (short beam) is NOT valid anymore because the traffic legislation provides that in this case it is mandatory to use the dipped-beam headlights (short beam), without leaving the option to use the daytime running lights (DRL) instead of the dipped-beam headlights.

More information about the obligation to drive also during the day with the dipped-beam headlights or with the daytime running lights in operation can be found here - The obligation to use the dipped-beam headlights (short beam) or DRL during daytime.

The correct answer is: C
