Explanation

For answer  A

When they wish to perform the overtaking maneuver, the drivers of vehicles have the following obligations:

  • to make sure that the vehicles in front and behind have not signalled the beginning of a similar maneuver and that they can perform the overtaking without endangering or hindering the traffic coming from the opposite direction;
  • to signal the intention to perform the maneuver;
  • to keep a sufficient lateral distance from the overtaken vehicle during the maneuver;
  • to re-enter the initial line of vehicles after they have signalled and made sure that they can perform the maneuver in safety conditions for the overtaken vehicle and the other traffic participants.

For answers  A  and  C

The road traffic legislation provides that the obligation not to increase the driving speed and to drive as close as possible to the right edge of the carriageway belongs to the driver of the vehicle who is about to be overtaken, not to the one performing the overtaking. Thus, answers A and C are wrong, because they refer to the obligations of the drivers of overtaken vehicles, not of those who overtake.

The correct answer is: B
