Question 358 of 554

When are the reflective triangles used?

A in the event of a breakdown, if removing the motor vehicle outside the carriageway is not possible;
B in the event of prolonged waiting at night;
C in the event of waiting, when visibility is reduced.

Explanation

For answer  A

In the situation in which you remain with the vehicle broken down on the carriageway, you must remove it immediately outside the carriageway. And if removing it outside the carriageway is not possible, you must move it next to the curb or shoulder, signalling the vehicle by putting into operation the hazard warning lights and by installing the reflective triangles at at least 30 meters before and after it.

For answers  B  and  C

The road traffic legislation does NOT oblige the installation of the reflective triangles only because you are waiting for a long time at night or because you are waiting when visibility is reduced. If you are not in a situation in which the road traffic legislation provides the obligation to install the reflective triangles, such as the situation in answer A, it is not necessary to install them.

The correct answer is: A
