Question 160 of 554

You give priority in the following situations:

A when encountering the sign “Intersection with a non‑priority road”;
B when encountering the sign “Priority to oncoming traffic”;
C at the green light of the electric traffic light, when you change the direction of travel.

Explanation

For answer  A

When encountering the sign “Intersection with a non‑priority road”, the driver of the vehicle is warned that he is approaching an intersection with a non‑priority road, an intersection in which he will have priority over vehicles coming from the road with which it intersects. Therefore, when encountering this sign the driver of the vehicle has priority and answer A cannot be correct.

For answer  B

When encountering the sign “Priority to oncoming traffic” the driver of the vehicle loses priority to vehicles coming from the opposite direction.

Attention! The question is “You give priority... (You do NOT have priority...)”. Therefore, You do NOT have priority when encountering the sign “Priority to oncoming traffic”.

For answer  C

You do not always have to give priority when you change direction at the green light of the electric traffic light.

When you turn right at the green light of the traffic light in an intersection that has no pedestrian crossings and/or bicycle lanes, you are NOT obliged to give priority to drivers of vehicles or pedestrians.

But when you turn left in an intersection, at the green light of the traffic light, you are obliged to give priority to vehicles which you intersect and which are coming from the right side, more precisely those coming from the opposite direction. And if that intersection has pedestrian crossings and bicycle lanes, when turning left you must also give priority to pedestrians who are crossing the street you want to enter, when they are on your direction of travel, as well as to drivers of bicycles or electric scooters whom you intersect and who are travelling on the bicycle lane, signalled as such.

The correct answer is: B
