Overtaking is the maneuver by which a vehicle goes ahead of another vehicle or past an obstacle located on the same lane of travel, by changing the direction of travel and leaving the traffic lane or the line of vehicles in which it was initially. [OUG* Art. 45 paragraph (1)]
