Art. 30. 
(1) The means of road signalling are:
     a) the systems of luminous or sound signalling;
     b) the signs;
     c) the markings;
     d) other special devices.
(2) The means of road signalling are constituted in a unitary system, are made and installed according to the specific standards and technical regulations in force, so that they are easily observed and from an adequate distance, both during the day and during the night, by those they are addressed to and must be in full concordance with each other, as well as in a proper technical operating condition.
(3) The luminous signals for directing the traffic in intersections have the following meanings:
     a) the colour green signal allows passing;
     b) the colour red signal prohibits passing;
     c) the colour yellow signal together with the colour red one prohibit passing.

(1) The colour red signal prohibits passing.
(2) At the colour red signal the vehicle must be stopped before the marking for stopping or, as the case may be, for the pedestrian crossing, and in its absence, at the traffic light. If the traffic light is installed above or on the other side of the intersection, in the absence of the marking for stopping or for the pedestrian crossing, the vehicle must be stopped before the edge of the carriageway of the road that is to be intersected.
(3) When the colour red signal operates simultaneously with the colour yellow one, it announces the appearance of the colour green signal.
