Explanation

Explanation text category C / driving tests drpciv:
Buses and heavy trucks have, in addition to the wheel brake, other deceleration devices. The exhaust brake (the engine brake) is a retarder that interrupts the diesel supply and obstructs the exhaust gases. The electromagnetic brake is a retarder that brakes the cardan shaft (the transmission), with the help of an electromagnet.
Therefore the retarder on the exhaust allows the use of the engine as a compressor, interrupting the fuel injection, also obstructing the exhaust gas outlet.
Correct answer: C
