The road traffic regulation specifies that the hazard warning lights are to be used in the following situations:

  • when the vehicle is involuntarily immobilized on the carriageway;
  • when the vehicle moves very slowly and/or constitutes itself a danger for the other participants in traffic;
  • when the motor vehicle is towed.

The drivers of motor vehicles and trams must activate the hazard warning lights, successively, in the order of stopping and in the case in which this maneuver is required by the blocking of the traffic on the direction of travel.
