Overtaking is the maneuver by which a vehicle moves ahead of another vehicle or alongside an obstacle, located in the same direction of travel, by changing the direction of travel and leaving the traffic lane or the row of vehicles in which it was initially. [OUG* Art. 45 paragraph (1)]

TO REMEMBER:

1. Whether we want to move ahead of another vehicle located in the same direction, or whether we want to bypass an obstacle on the carriageway located in the same direction, it is still called overtaking;
