The driver of the vehicle (including the truck driver) involved in a traffic accident after which only the damaging of the vehicles and/or other material damages resulted (without victims), is obliged to immediately move the vehicle outside the carriageway or, if the condition of the vehicle does not allow this, to move it as close as possible to the curb or shoulder, signalling its presence and to present himself at the competent police unit in the area where the accident occurred within no more than 24 hours from the occurrence of the event for drawing up the ascertainment documents.

To this obligation to present yourself at the competent police unit in the area where the accident occurred within no more than 24 hours from the occurrence of the event, the following exceptions are provided:

• the drivers of the vehicles who conclude an amicable accident report, under the conditions of the law;
• the driver of the vehicle who holds a voluntary vehicle damage insurance, and the traffic accident resulted only in the damaging of his own vehicle.

OUG* - Article 79

(1) The drivers of vehicles involved in a traffic accident after which only the damaging of the vehicles and/or other material damages resulted are obliged:
a) to immediately move the vehicles outside the carriageway or, if the condition of the vehicles does not allow this, to move them as close as possible to the curb or shoulder, signalling their presence;
b) to present themselves at the competent police unit in the area where the accident occurred within no more than 24 hours from the occurrence of the event for drawing up the ascertainment documents.
(2) Are exempted from the obligations provided in paragraph (1) letter b):
a) the drivers of the vehicles who conclude an amicable accident report, under the conditions of the law;
b) the driver of the vehicle who holds a voluntary vehicle damage insurance, and the traffic accident resulted only in the damaging of his own vehicle.
