Stopping the hemorrhage is done by tightly tying the arm by applying a tourniquet, above the wound. A note must necessarily be attached on which the name of the victim and the exact time of applying the tourniquet are written. Although in the past it was recommended to loosen the tourniquet every 15 minutes to allow blood supply to the limb, the practice is no longer recommended at present, because it may worsen the victim's condition.
