In the case of a clavicle fracture which can be identified by the fact that the shoulder is in a hanging position, slightly forward and down, the arm is placed in a sling. The patient must be transported in a sitting position, slightly leaned back. Leaning forward is not recommended because this can lead to the displacement of the fragments.
The shoulder will NOT be brought into the normal position, this procedure will be done only in medical units and only by specialized personnel.
If you leave the arm free, a greater tension will be created in the fracture area, which would lead to greater pain and possibly to the displacement of the fragments.
