In addition to the obligation to stop at the signals of the traffic police officer, the traffic participants are obliged to stop also at the signals of the traffic guides of the Ministry of Defence. The latter may perform, in addition to the stopping signals, also the following signals: the swinging of the arm in the vertical plane, with the palm of the hand oriented towards the ground or with a means of signalling, which signifies the reduction of speed, as well as the brisk rotation of the arm, which signifies the increase of the speed of movement of the vehicles, including the speeding up of the crossing of the road by pedestrians. Failure to respect their signals is sanctioned with a fine provided in the class II of sanctions.
It is not mandatory to stop at the signals given by the drivers of the ambulance vehicles or of the inspectors of the city hall. In the case of the drivers of the ambulance vehicles, this question does not refer to the special warning signals with blue colour light and sound, with which the vehicles belonging to the ambulance service are equipped.
