Explanation

The gravity of a hemorrhage is determined primarily by the volume of blood lost, which influences the body's ability to maintain vital functions.

Depending on the volume of blood lost, hemorrhages can be classified as follows:

  • major, lethal hemorrhages: the loss of more than half of the total amount of blood;
  • medium hemorrhages: the loss of approximately one third of the total blood volume;
  • minor hemorrhages: the loss of an amount of 500 - 600 ml of blood.

The abundant draining of blood, internal or external, following the rupture or cutting of the wall of a blood vessel is called hemorrhage. Hemorrhage is caused by injury to the integrity of the vessel, caused by trauma, purulent lysis of the vascular wall, disruption of blood chemistry.

Hemorrhages can be classified into two main types:

  • external hemorrhages. They occur when blood drains outside the body, as a result of the sectioning of blood vessels;
  • externalized hemorrhages. They occur when blood drained from a vessel is evacuated through a natural opening of the body, such as the mouth, nose, ears;
  • internal hemorrhages. They occur when blood remains inside the body, such as in the abdominal cavity.

The correct answer is: A
