By vigilance is understood the uninterrupted maintaining of attention for the entire duration of the travel. Vigilance represents the capacity of the driver to observe attentively and sustainedly, to supervise continuously what happens around him when he drives the motor vehicle, in order to be able to prevent an accident.
The driver must have increased and permanent attention to everything that is and happens on the road, to the way his own vehicle functions, as well as to the other circumstantial elements that may be encountered in road traffic.
