Explanation

The immobilization of a fracture in the hands is done by fixing with splints the two joints neighboring the fracture, above and below the fracture site. Under the splint, a soft gauze bandage (or cotton wool) is applied to prevent soft tissue injuries. If no splints are available, immobilization can be done with scarves or triangular cloths.
