It must be noted that the road traffic legislation imposes this obligation to drive with a speed that shall not exceed 30 km/h in the urban area or 50 km/h outside built-up area if the pedestrian crossing which is not controlled by traffic lights, signalled by signs and markings, is on a road with a single traffic lane per direction, and the pedestrians on the sidewalk, in the immediate vicinity of the carriageway, intend to engage in crossing. If the road has two or more traffic lanes per direction, this obligation regarding the travel speed no longer applies, regardless of whether there are pedestrians in the immediate vicinity of the pedestrian crossing who intend to engage in crossing, but the obligation to give priority to the pedestrians remains, when they are on your direction of travel.
