As in the case of understeer, the phenomenon occurs when the driver brakes strongly during the turn and is strongly accentuated by excessive tire wear or by a slippery carriageway. To understand the phenomenon of oversteer, imagine a transfer of the center of gravity towards the front part of the motor vehicle, simultaneously with the loss of adhesion of the tires on the rear axle.

Therefore, when you perform a left turn at high speed, the motor vehicle has the tendency to skid to the right, towards the outside of the curve. That is why in curves the speed of travel must be preventively reduced.
