GENERAL Learning Environment Category B (B, B1)
Question 1012 of 1208

What obligations do you have while driving the motor vehicle regarding speed?

A to respect the maximum speed allowed on the road section on which you move, corresponding to the category to which the driven motor vehicle belongs;
B to comply with the speed limits required through the specific means of signalling;
C to drive as much as possible in the lower speed gears, in order not to pollute the environment.

Explanation

For answers  A  and  B

The drivers of vehicles are obliged to respect the maximum speed allowed on the road section on which they move and for the category to which the driven vehicle belongs, as well as the maximum speed required through the means of signalling. For example, if you move on a road within built-up area you must move with a speed that does not exceed the maximum speed limit for roads within built-up areas, this being 50 km/h. However, if you encounter a means of signalling that requires another maximum speed limit, such as the sign "Speed limit" at 40 km/h, you will respect the limit required by that sign and you will move with a speed that does not exceed 40 km/h, because the meaning of the signs will be respected with priority over the traffic rules.

For answer  C

It is not mandatory to drive, as much as possible, in the lower speed gears. On the contrary, this behaviour of the driver of the motor vehicle leads to the increase of fuel consumption and implicitly of environmental pollution.

The correct answer is: A and B
