To better understand this rule we give the following example: A driver of a motor vehicle is driving during the day, in optimal visibility conditions, in which case he is obliged to put into operation either the dipped-beam headlights (that is the low beam), or the daytime running lights (DRL), as he considers, or he can even use them both at the same time. However, if he is driving in heavy snowfall conditions, the option to choose to put into operation the daytime running lights (DRL) instead of the dipped-beam headlights (low beam) IS NOT valid anymore because the traffic legislation provides that in this case it is mandatory to use the dipped-beam headlights (low beam), without leaving the option to use the daytime running lights (DRL) instead of the dipped-beam headlights.
