Even in the case of a collision at a speed of 20 km/h injuries may be caused if the passengers or the driver of the vehicle are not wearing a seat belt, they may hit the hard parts of the vehicle (dashboard, windshield, steering wheel). The role of the seat belt is to protect the passenger or the driver of the vehicle against injuries. Being flexible, the seat belt slows down the speed with which you move straight ahead, preventing you from hitting the hard parts of the vehicle or, if you do hit them, the risk of injury is much lower.
It must be known that the persons occupying seats fitted with seat belts are obliged to wear them during travel.
