The road legislation does not expressly prohibit excessive revving of the engine when setting the vehicle in motion from a standstill. However, if this revving is produced intentionally by repeated acceleration of the engine, of a nature to disturb the persons located in the area of the public road, it falls under aggressive driving and is prohibited according to article 54^1 paragraph (2) letter i) of OUG 195/2002 (posted below).

(2) Signalling the change of direction of travel must be maintained throughout the duration of the maneuver.

The driver of the vehicle is obliged to give priority also in the following situations:

f) when setting in motion or when entering the public road coming from an adjacent property, in relation to the vehicle that moves on the public road, regardless of the direction of travel;
