Question 901 of 1208

You are obliged to drive at a speed that does not exceed 30 km/h in the urban area, in the following situations:

A in the action area of the warning sign “Children”, between 07.00-22.00;
B in a residential area;
C when changing the traffic lane.

Explanation

For answer  A

In the action area of the sign “Children” you are obliged to drive at a speed that does not exceed 30 km/h in the urban area or 50 km/h outside built-up area between 7:00 - 22:00.

The “Children” sign warns you that you are about to encounter a place frequented by children, such as schools, kindergartens, playgrounds, parks, etc.. It is indicated to increase attention in order to be able to stop safely in case of the unexpected appearance of children on the carriageway.

For answer  B

The road legislation obliges that when driving in residential areas properly signalled you drive at a speed that does not exceed 20 km/h. Considering that in the wording of the question it is about the maximum speed of 30 km/h answer B cannot be correct.

For answer  C

When changing the traffic lane you are not obliged to drive at a speed that does not exceed 30 km/h in the urban area. You must not confuse changing the direction of travel with changing the direction of movement through bends. When changing the direction of movement through bends the road legislation obliges to drive at a speed that does not exceed 30 km/h in the urban area or 50 km/h outside built-up area. Therefore, answer C cannot be correct.

The correct answer is: A
